Zimbabwe Cross Border Traders Association (ZCBTA)

Zimbabwe Cross Border Traders Association (ZCBTA) is an apolitical organization that was formed in 2000 and got registered in 2001 as a trust. The organization is a representative body of small-scale traders whose mandate is to promote and defend the interests of its members. ZCBTA has a membership base of over 7 000 with a ratio of 76% to 24% women and men respectively.

With its national status, ZCBTA is reasonably spread though out Zimbabwe and has a fair representation of both urban and rural traders. ZCBTA over the years, gained recognition locally, internationally and sits in various national working committees involved in trade-related matters such as COMESA STR, NTBs, Beitbridge Efficiency Management as well as other regional fora. ZCBTA played a key role in the formation of regional bodies COMESA Regional Cross Border Traders Association (COMESA-RCBTA) and Southern Africa Cross Border Traders Association (SACBTA). ZCBTA is the current host of the SACBTA secretariat.
